For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.

A bit of history for those who are interested

When I lived in London (pre-internet days!) I was invited to join a Chinese dinner club by a friend from Shanghai. You were allowed to bring one guest who was immediately invited to join the group. Great fun. I met a lot of interesting characters and discovered the Chinese restaurants in London

Fast forward a few years and when I was in Singapore we used to organise monthly dinners - french, Indonesian, Italian, Egyptian - again great fun with up to 50 people coming along

Now we are in the Chun - lets do the same!

All ideas welcome!

Mongolian sounds great. I think we should talk to hulan about coming with us, because she gave a 5 minute speech about the customs that go with the meal whilst I was there!

I love how they sing at the beginning too and she knows the owners too!

Richard,

Yes the pot luck dinner is right, but it is actually Ward's idea!

So, we go to New York Steve?

I think not!

I fancy a Mongolian roast lamb dinner to start us off!

Besides going to restaurants we can also create our own dinners - I am sure grandpa's would help

Jason came up with the idea of a pot luck dinner (have i got that right?)
