For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.

Event Description

The first ever Dinner Club meeting will be to taste the roast lamb of Mongolia

A whole lamb is cooked on a spit and brought to the table - delicious!

More details will follow in the next few days but we are hoping that Hulan will be able to give us an introduction to mongolian food and etiquette!

Price to be arranged depending on numbers who want to come

This is a book in advance event and the seating will be limited to 18-20 people. Book in advance to make sure you get a seat

For anyone new here who wants to explore Changchun this is a must go to restaurant - particularly in winter!

Is it too late to come?

Jeff Walsh has just e-mailed me asking to come with two friends. I have asked him to confirm on this events page but please put Geoff + 2 down

Agreed, we'll have to put a cap on people attending. So whilst Richard is away, I suggest 24 is the maximum. If we reach this number, we then stop admitting others!

Richard, from what I remember about the place, it will seat 30 but that is really crowding the seating. The most comfortable arrangement will be 20-25 people.

Hulan, the big room will seat 30, do you think they will give it to us for 20 people?

My friend Daniel, a Chinese graduate student on Changchun friends, is not so familiar with the site but also wants to go. Can I 'RSVP' here for him? That would make him No. 18.
