For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.

Event Description

7 years in Changchun, and still partying! Join us and tell us how much you love us (or not), how much we will be missed (or not) and how much we owe you (I surely forgot).

It has been 7 wonderful years and we would like to remember them with you one more time.

We will gather at the muslim restaurant where we had Jo's farewell. Leah and Gus are leaving on the 26th early morning so it might be your last chance to see  them!

The Sound of Changchun has NOT ended. It lives on in the minds and hearts of everyone who ever partook, whether it was performers or audience.

Open letter to Vincent and Leah: Dear All, I so clearly remember our first Sound of Chanchun and all the joy in that night. Then the second and third...the one at Jin Yue Tan, the one in front of 1500 people and the one in the smallest room ever. All the musicians that have been actively involved in Sound of Changchun have contributed in truly creating free culture (and for free as well) in this cold city. Nobody has been able to do that. And that is because of our vision, that we have always kept in mind and fulfilled. Leah has played a very important role because has allowed Vincent to sacrifice a lot of time taken out from family. As always, besides great man there is always an amazing lady. The end Of this chapter in your life will coincide with the end of Sound of Chnagchun...another amazing journey. But this is the natural walk of life and we can only be proud of what we have done together. Maybe 30 years later someone will still remember the magic notes of Sound of Changchun. If so, it will mean we have accomplished some. I would like to thank all the musicians that have been involved, especially those that in the early days did believe in vincent and I and says YES when we proposed them to play. Allow me to say one special word of appreciation to Archie, another family man that has devoted his spare time too. Aurevoir mon ami. See you in Europe.
