Event Description

Hello, I will organize with the World Life Club a huge miniature wargame. The thema is the battle of Gravelotte St Privat, one of the biggest battle of the Franco-Prussian war of 1870. The surface area of the game will be 15 sqm and the number of miniatures around 8 000, so the view will be quite spectacular. I will need 11 motivated players, 6 for the German team and 5 for the French team. If you like history and/or strategy game, like chess, please feel free to participate. The game will be organized in November or December and it will be a two-three days event.

Comment by Sebastien Bossard on November 24, 2011 at 12:34: Good news, I recruited four of my students so you will be nine players, 5 Germans (John, Vincent, David and two students) and 4 French (the two Richard and two students). To be more historical, the German side has two commanders independent from each other (and even rivals): John as second army commander, with Vincent and a student and David as first army commander with another student. I will play the Gross general stab (grand general staff) liaison for general objectives. Richard Roman will be the French general in chief. For lunch, the English breakfast seems perfect, but the two sides will have to separate in different places for strategic and tactical discussions. I will come at around 2 PM to install the game, see you tomorrow Richard.
