For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.

I will have been in the Chun for 10 years come the 7th March so to celebrate, I invite all and everyone for a beer/drink/get together. All beers and non alcoholic drinks will be free and on my tab until 9.00pm

10 years and counting! Congratulations Richard!!! Many thanks to you and other pioneers. I remember Jo's speech this year Thanksgiving dinner and I should say that We are lucky that you guys were the first to come in the CHUN. Respect and admiration!

I have asked D reek to cook some pork scratchings ( an English thing I think) but if anyone who reads this can bring something easily available in the Chun and is cheap then that would be great!

We can all try stuff that we did not know existed and Derek will know what snacks to offer- if he wants to!

Scottish Martin is also celebrating his 10 years here and came up with a really good idea.

Can everyone who comes bring their favourite Chinese snack with them that Derek, the owner of Grandpa's, can provide?

Maybe enough for 3-5 people. Obviously Derek would have to charge for these snacks but it could give him an idea as to what is popular!
