For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.

A good friend of mine and of many people here in Changchun has just completed writing his book which is a thriller set in Changchun. He asked me if I could get a group of people to read the book and critique it for him. . This would help him enormously in deciding on any changes/developments he might make
Set in a university here in Changchun, the resident expatriate English teacher is surprised when one of his good English students suddenly goes missing. On enquiring about her whereabouts, he is met by a wall of silence. . He sets about the task of finding out what has happened, Switching between the past and the present, a macabre secret is uncovered with terrifying effects in the present.............................
I will be receiving the manuscript on the 11th and would be very grateful if anyone would like to volunteer to critique the book and give their opinions on it. Unfortunately, we have to do it quickly as my friend wishes to enter the book into a national competition at the end of this month. I am hoping - if enough people are interested to hold a small group discussion around the 25th May - so it does not give us much time!
Please comment here if you wish to receive a copy and be part of the discussion group.
