For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.

Event Description

On Friday 6th June will be the 70th anniversary of the D-day landings, the biggest military operation of all times that started the reconquest of fascist-ruled Europe.

To celebrate this key event of the last century, Sebastien and I would like to invite you all, together with your students, to attend a movie show . We will play "the longest day" in its original version (black and white, English, French and German languages with Chinese subtitles) in the room 404, building I of our institute. The show will start at 4 pm.
To understand better the importance of this event, a quick presentation will be given by Sebastien (PhD in History) and myself (citizen of the first village liberated by american paratroopers on the night of the 5th to the 6th June 1944) and we will be happy to answer any questions that may arise at the end of the show.
Hope to see you there,
Vincent and Sebastien

For those who don't know how to get there : bus 120, 160 and 102 and the qinggui will lead you straight to the main gate of the institute. The name of the stop is HUAQIAOWAIYUAN/ BOXUE LU.

Unfortunately, the main gate is not always open so you might have to use the north entrance that you will easily find just by following the students' flow.

Once, you are inside, you can ask around for the building 1. Students will be delighted to accompany you. Go to the (chinese) 4th floor and find the room 404.
