For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. Event Description

How do you do? G'day hows it goin?

It is with great pleasure and much noted excitement that we, the Central Organising Commitee of the Queen's Jubilee, do cordially invite the good and great of the People's city - the Chun - to join us and idulge in the festivities of an authentic aussie barby (barbeque) at Granpa's tavern.

So the menu goes as follows:

There will be a potato salad with fresh mint,
A good ole green salad and potato fritters
A creamy pasta salad
A smoked pig cooked all day. Make a burger of it
A smoked brisket, make a roll of it
Peqodemio – I think I spelt that correctly  - a kind of Mexican food, cooked by our mates from Alabama
Derek’s regular and time honoured bbq snags and mushrooms and burgers,
And of course… Pav, (Pavlova), cooked by our own Aussie mates from the trains.

And don’t forget, a free authentic Aussie beer for the first 24 people that rock up! That's right, a free Aussie beer. Why not come? Good ole' Aussie music blasting, plenty of food, a special celebrity guest appearance and a night of all round good times and you will be paying no more than 60 yuan for a once-off meal. There is going to be so much meat.

So come along all you Aussies, expats, monarchists, Elizabethans, romantics, miscreants, rebels, tories, republicans, communists, anarchists, wanderers, carnivores and let's get messy!

God Save the Queen.

I would say thankyou to everyone for coming, but actually, it was an AUSSIE barby and all we got were you

colombian,

american,

canadian,

welsh,

english,

african,

chinese,

singaporean,

german,

french,

spanish and most despicably of all, New zealandish

gate-crashers!!!

But its all good. I can only assume that the North americans can now match the Aussies and throw a "just as authentic" 4th of July shindig. I reckon it will be revolutionary!

Thats an Australian bushwacker with the image of the Queen by the way!

It appears we will be lacking the girls -  a boys night eh?

Yep, it looks like the night will live up to its name. A true sausage fest. We better give the girls a run for their money.
