For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.

WE WANT YOU to join us to celebrate America’s birthday on the 4th of July (2012)!
The party will start at 2 pm and last until 10 pm (?).
The party’s location will be Changchun’s Goose Island (Da’edao or Dahedao), just south of the Jilin University south campus.
Costs
Cover charge: 30 RMB, in return you will receive 2 hamburgers or 2 hot dogs or one of each, plus a plate of side dishes.
Cash bar: beer prices range from 5 to 12 RMB.
Travel: approximately 20 RMB taxi ride from Guilin Road.
In addition, we (hopefully) will stage a re-enactment of the famous naval battle between the warships Bonhomme Richard (U.S.) and Serafis (U.K.). It might not be too historically accurate, but it’ll be entertaining! Plus, other activities will be announced soon.
Lastly, if it rains, still come. We even have a spacious shelter to use to continue the party.

OK - will set it up
Anyone want to come with me to select the menu/price etc?
Dinner club, yes! Ribs, ribs, ribs! I saw others eating them and they looked extremely tasty!
Lets do that!
Am thinking of holding our next dinner club meeting there - what do you all think?
Damn balloons! I remember getting whacked "downtown". So it was you Richard, hmmmmmmm. Hopefully, Goose Island won't hold the "unexploded ordinance" against us for future events
Just to kill my curiosity, I went back to Goose Island this morning to see just how many water balloons were floating in the water over there! I counted 9 un-exploded water balloons!
I know the one i threw at Little John's wedding tackle didn't explode. I suppose with all the low blows he's taken, he has no weak points!!!
Never mind every year. It's the Venezuelan Independence day today and the Solomon Islands tomorrow 7th.
for our part we were glad to provide..
