For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. I would like to respond to some of the criticisms posted here.

I like Nemo's and their food. The food is consistently good and enjoyable. Im usually served within 15 minutes of ordering, but when the restaurant is full, it may take a little longer.

Nemo's is a Mom and Pop type restaurant, and there are limitations to these type of restaurants, Mom and Pop type restaurants are usually small and cozy, the kitchens are tiny and basic, with barely enough room to walk around. Most food is prepared and cooked to order and western style foods take longer to cook than Chinese style foods.

All of this contributes to a homey type atmosphere, I think the service in Nemo's is fair and average, as good as most other places and as good as you usually get in China, so it can be better.

Another problem people mention is the rudeness of the staff. I dont think the staff is purposely rude, but there can be miscommunications. It is difficult to get a full time english speaking staff, most of the fúwùyuán are students and dont hang around for long.

Yes, Nemo's may be a victim of it own success. The owner Jin runs a tight ship and when he isnt around, I think maybe things begin to slip. I have heard complaints from people that sometimes the drinks are very slight on the alcohol. To me, this is very bad quality control and can hurt a small restaurant reputation (somehow, Mayflower does get away with this).

A small restaurant like Nemo's is still customer driven, and they do benefit by customers giving them feedback, both good and bad. Im sure some of the recent sloppyness will get cleaned up.

I have a very busy day today with a big party for Selina and her school mates but I would like to support Jean (is that how you spell it). I never really used Nemo's but find the Nautilus a really friendly place and I have spent a lot of time with Jean and really enjoy his company. Thomas and Mary eat there often and we have always found the food and service to be of the highest standard - we have absolutely no complaints. I'm sorry others have had other experiences but for me I have had nothing but good times in their company and I would recommend them to everybody and urge them to give it a chance.

The first Nemo's was an awful place. I once waited an hour to be told that they didn't even begin to prepare my lunch.

And another time, I asked for the wi-fi password and the owner refused to give it to me...
The service was atrocious and the food was sub-par and the owner was extremely rude and always seemed to have dirt under his fingernails...

I would not even recommend it to any of The Douchebagettes...

I remember a time that nemo's was a nice place, reliable and good food. I hope they take that original concept to the second one!
