For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.

Event Description

Hosted and Organized by Julia Tong, Let us get out of this city and forget work for a while. Kick off your shoes and start playing with the crabs.

Tour Schedule

Day 1: City Tour

Day 2: Red Beach Scenic Area

Day 3: Party

Cost: 1200 RMB

           4 star hotel (KTV, Hot Spring, and Breakfast included)

           Round trip bullet train tickets

           Entrance tickets for scenic locations

           Bus Fare between hotel and scenic spots

Ticket Booking has started, Contact Julia to book your spot, also Wed. at Grandpa's bring a photocopy of passport and money collection to buy the tickets.

Richard, it lies in the southwest of Panjin City, Liaoning Province which is next to Jilin Province and is about 30 kilometers from the urban area. The reeds and marsh here are the habitat of 236 kinds of birds. The most famous is the red-crowned cranes and Saunder's gull. Observing the cranes, gulls and other rare birds in the reeds sea is a tourism activity that is full of strong natural appeal. In this area, there is crane-observing platform. In Autumn the Suaeda vegetation that is 26 km long and 1 km wide near the mouth of Shuangtaizi River is fiery red and very spectacular, hence it is called "Red Beach".

The best time for enjoying is from the middle of September till the end of October when the reeds/Suaeda turns red, which is amazingly spectacular! And time for enjoying the famous Panjin river crabs and the seafood!But of course every season different experience!Beautiful place!
