For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.

Event Description

We are planning a day trip to Shenyang to sightsee, shop and eat good food. We would hire a coach and leave around 8.00am and plan to be back around 8.00pm

IKEA, Metro - a western supermarket (think City Supermarket but bigger!), good restaurant etc

For the supermarket you will need to bring your passport - more info to follow

We will meet outside Macdonalds at 7.30-8.00am

Anyone up for it?

If we get enough people we will hire a coach so it is easy to bring things back

We're all going on a summer holiday........

Ok everyone - need people to confirm if they are in

We have the choice of an 11 seater coach for 1400 + tips etc (500 if we also pay all petrol and road fees)

or 2000 for a 19 seater coach

My idea would be to meet at WLC at 8.00am and then we will first go to IKEA - have lunch there, then off to the Metro in the afternoon followed by a dinner somewhere nice. Leave Shenyang around 8.00pm and be back in the Chun around 10/11pm

Of course people are free to do their own thing and just meet back at the bus at agreed times

My guess is the price/person is somewhere between 1-200 RMB depending on how many confirm

It looks like we can book a 19 seater coach for 2000 + extras such as buying lunch and dinner for the driver and also a small tip for him

Please confirm if you want to come

leave the Chun at 8.00am and leave Shenyang to come home about 8.00pm
