For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.

Event Description

Changchun Friends Bowling Night's are back. We   play at the Redbuds Hotel on Renmin Da jie (near Nanhu). So come down and join us every thursday evening for some real bowling fun. Doesnt matter if your an absolute beginner, or a pro, we accept and tolerate all. Make your Thursdays better!

(A) Rent a lane for 49RMB/hour {69RMB Sat/Sun}: this includes two pairs of shoes {now 5RMB to rent}. I think this will work out pretty well for us.

(B) People can avail of the 25RMB “all you can bowl” between 2100-Midnight (closing time) every night.

Bring your own beverages if you want to avoid 4 star Hotel prices, but we insist you aren't too blatant about it, they allow us to bring our own, but DISCRETLY! We meet every Thursday evening(7.30 onwards) without fail.

A bowling ball is going to add greatly to your checked baggage weight. I would suggest bringing your shoes only. You don't need to buy a new ball here. There are plenty of them at at the bowling alley, and you're sure to find a comfortable weight. Bowling balls here cost anywhere between 1500 and 3500 RMB, so unless you're an avid player, and are looking to get onto a team ...

Question, as I prepare for my move to China... although I am not a very good bowler, I do have my own shoes and bowling ball. Should I bring them, or just buy new ones in Changchun?

Might drop by, not sure yet. Haven't played for a while, hope the ceiling is high enough and that I won't do as good as the guy on the gif document below
