Parks? With BBQ

-Does anybody know which parks in Changchun allow BBQ? I can bring/buy the stuff but I imagine most parks have laws or at least a BBQ area/season.

-The main one is Nan-hu park, but I'd also be intersted in Jing-yue park as well. If I can't find a place I may have to cook my meat in a dark alley.

Nic - Jinyue is very strict about fires etc

If we could find a good place for outdoor BBQ's that would be wonderful!

to be honest, there is no park allow peeple to do BBQ. i m sure jingyuetan. nanhu, shengli park they dont allowed it at all. so the good opention for you you can find a place there is no house or trees around it .. or just cook in your friends hourse

I used to cook at the bank of Yitong River,the view is fanscinating. I also camped there, but this season is too cold to camp.

Could you give me some more information? Did you get hassled by people or police? Did they have signs saying no cooking? Where along the river were you? North or south of the rail line?

No one hassled us,no signs saying no cooking.we were too tired to find a place, so we just camped near the rail line. You can choose a place, both banks are fine. You can walk along the river to find a place, there are some parks, I am sorry I could identify the directions .br />

Things can be pretty funky along the river, I remember biking along the river during the summer a few years ago and passing a few shanty towns.  The locals were lounging, cooking and hanging out.  Some places along the river are not really a river, but maybe a muddy tidal flat.  Your mileage may vary.

BBQ area....nick if you go in the green and wood fronted cafe almost opposite grandmas, you will find the owners wife, a Japanese lady (or Korean...can't remember) they have a place out near jingyue tan that allows fires and camping.

Well I did it wednesday. Got rained out early. But otherwise a great spot. I added a picture as well. That's Brandon in the picture.

Well, a while ago we spend time near the HongQiJie park, called ChaoYang Park. There was a secluded area with shelter where we would enjoy a beer. Don't think we ever bbq'ed there but it could be fun. Summer is here! (Rain tomorrow) :(
