For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.

Information

ChangChun Auction House

An auction house for the modern family. Rummage through your cellars, browse heavily your attic and find that special item to sell off for a lofty price.

...Or you can rent a table and lay out as many items as you like on our flee-market tables!

An Auction is where people get together and bid on items for sale. The object of the game is to outbid other interested parties.

The auctioneer presents the item, perhaps giving away some of its historical secrets. Then he will increase the price depending on how many people are interested.

Sometimes, in these so-called 'bidding war', items are sold for much more than they are worth only adding to the excitement!

Before the auction starts, items are valued and a set-price is given. The seller can set the lowest price he/she thinks is appropriate for the item. If no-one bids the lowest asking price, the item is returned (unharmed!) to the seller.

  • Flee market is open from 1pm to 4pm (you can book a stand in WLC, we have x tables available)
  • Lot items for the auction can be admired by interested from 4pm to 5pm (make notes on items you would like to bid on)
  • Dinner is served for the hungry browsers at 5pm
  • Auction starts at 6pm ending when the final lot has found a new owner

Auction will be held by Dutch Martin who will assess, catalogue and value your items before the auction begins.

CC Auction House will be held every 6 months in World Life Club

Agree with Richard. I think a Sunday would be best but not April 1st!

Also, because there are teachers who do not finish until 7.00pm - I think the auction time should be from 8.00pm

It would be nice if you guys help me think. How about an appropriate day in the week? I'm thinking of a Thursday (the 29th?) or April 1st (Sunday)

You can bring your kettle and make us a nice cup a' T.

Guys I am brainstorming at the moment thinking about the best time to start this. I'm thinking about posters, leaflets, advertisement and, of course, a obligatory cartoon associated with this even!

I have a brand new kettle! (is that spelling correct?)
