For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.

Changchun Friends

a great way to get involved

Chao Yang Gong Yuan or The Park with the TV Tower

This has always been my favorite park. The TV tower sits in this park and the views from the revolving restaurant at the top are amazing but the food is expensive, Chinese and nothing to write home about.

The park is easy to get and has a good warm feeling about it.

It's not too big but attracts a lot of different types of visitors.

A lot of Chinese musicians go there and it's nice to relax listening to them.

There are many things for children to do, although most are old and a little past their best. My Thomas didn't care and really enjoyed himself.

The park has been redesigned and will soon have a big cafe beside the park's pretty lake - that will be so cool.

There will be a golf practice area there too - hit into nets.

Beautiful bridges and a big hidden pagoda, lots of flowers and you can picnic anywhere on the many grassy areas, make this a great place to spend a few hours or more. Very close to Ouya too and therefore many restaurants and shops.
