 Changchun Railway Station is located in the northern part of the city, more specifically at the northernmost end of Renmindajie and is the third largest railway station in northeastern China. Trains from here reach dozens of cities in China. In addition you can have access to trains for Beijing, Shanghai and Xian which begin from Changchun Railway Station. These trains provide you a good opportunity to enjoy the beauty of both Changchun and its neighbors.

Changchun Longjia International Airport is located in between Changchun and Jilin City. It is newly completed, opening on August 27th 2005 and capable of handling more than 3.2 million passengers per year. At present, there are flights to more than thirty domestic cities, such as Shanghai, Xian, Shenzhen, Nanjing, etc. and international flights to Hong Kong, Tokyo, Seoul, Sendai and Vladivostok.

The development of Changchun's motorways is relatively fast. At the present time there are three highways starting from Changchun and are to Siping, Jilin and Yingchengzi respectively. 

Among these three, the one to Siping connects with the Liaoning highway; therefore cars can reach Shenyang, Dalian and Beijing directly. In addition two national roads, 102 and 302 pass through Changchun, which makes transportation here very convenient. Changchun Bus Station:

 The central area of Changchun is not very spacious, but city bus routes here amount to more than 100 and can take you to almost every part of the City. Generally speaking the ticket fee is 1 Yuan in driver only buses; in those busses with conductors, the ticket fee is based on the numbers of stops you travel. Please do remember to take small change when you use buses!

 As the home of Yiqi, taxies are readily available here with a total of some 25,000 taxies providing services to locals and tourists alike. The taxis of Changchun include the models Hongqi, Audi, Jetta, etc. with Jetta in the main role with the usual price for a taxi being RMB 5 for the first 2.5 kilometers (about 1.9 miles) and an additional charge of RMB2 for every subsequent kilometer.

Light rail

 Changchun Light Rail Transit is a on-ground rail mass transit system in the city of Changchun, Jilin province, China. It is said to be the first light rail transit system in Mainland China. The initial phase of Line 3 was completed in 2001, the 2nd phase was completed in 2007. Thus the construction of Line 3 has been totally finished. It officially opened to revenue service in October 2002. The current total length of the route is 31.6 km with 33 stations. The system will be added by three lines of conventional underground metro. According to report of Xinhua agency in 8 October 2008, construction of first line of metro with 18 stations and length 20,12 km starts in 2010, and it will open in 2014. Phases 3 with Line 4 is now under construction.

长春轻轨是中国首次采用国产化新型交流变频变压轻轨电动客车的营运线路，也是中国的第一条轻轨。长春市从八十年代开始规划和筹建城市快速轨道交通建设，由于长春市的经济实力和建设条件不成熟，直到1998年有了实质性的进展。2000年5月27日长春轻轨一期工程正式开始建设，2002年10月30日一期工程投入试运营。长春市中心城区远景线网由3条放射线、2条半环线组成的放射线网。其中1、2、5号线为地铁线路，3、4号线为轻轨，5条线共同组成三主两辅双模式轨道交通线网。中心城区线网总长179公里。2010年前分三期工程完成轻轨3、4号线建设，屆时轻轨线路总长52公里。2010年至2020年建设地铁1、2号线市区段工程，屆时地铁线路总长将达到42公里。
