For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.

Steve Mellow went to Thailand and he left me (Murin) his amazing collection of his DVDs and put me in charge of the Film Society. We will be holding regular meetings twice a month (on Wednesdays) at Grandpa's to watch movies. Everyone is invited to give his proposition. What movie would you like to show? Why? Which movie would you like to see? Don't worry we will see them all ;)

I just watched "12 years a slave"...great movie...sad reflection of what we were, what we can be!
Matt Damon, Best Screenplay. I think it was in the late 90's (1998?)
I would say Marilyn Monroe
Great movie night last night. Thank you all for coming. I like the idea of the Sunday brunch and like watching the Cohen Brothers movies ;)
Also on every Sunday at 5pm Acner is showing Chinese movies with English subtitles at Bar 17.
If you have any idea what movie would you like to see or show to the others let me know. Next movie club meeting in two weeks time (probably on the 20 March)
Thats a good idea we could combine it with the Traditional English Breakfast we had one day but this time we could do a Brunch
