For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.

Changchun Friends

a great way to get involved

Here is another Liu Yang pictogram of Cultural Differences. The WEST is in Blue. The EAST is in Red. Do you agree?

Before and after the semi-annual Canton Import-Export Fair in Guangzhou.....personnel/ barriers/ storefronts/signs and banners are COMPLETELY changed for 1 month then changed back. A WHOLE CITY BLOCK of 20 "stores". Amazing.

I think the time frame should be different. In my experience the Chinese react just before an event with lots of activity but usually it works well, and usually really well. Westerners plan more and have a much more structured approach over a longer period of time but both work. It amazes me how Chinese quickly put something together the day before an event and the day after it all disappears - I've seen huge stages erected quickly and dismantled with great expertise and skill.
