For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.

Changchun Friends

a great way to get involved

Create your own card - example Christmas card

The Shangri La Christmas market is on December 1st and Martin can create Christmas cards for anyone who wishes to donate money to a very worthwhile charity. The characters can be changed - you can choose any character Martin has drawn over this year. Seven is a good number but it can be more or less. Please let me know if your interested. I think this is Martin's best cartoon yet and this is only draft as he wants to make it perfect.

Not too early as this event is huge and needs preparation.

The Shangrila assure me that the event will be bigger and better than last year and have opened out their invite to a wider audience.

You can book a stall and do anything you want but all profit goes to their charity - Liu Ying school - a school for not so privileged kids. This is a great school that I have taught at many times. The Shangrila hotel recruit teachers to give their time for free - so if your interested please get it touch - it's really an amazing place to teach.

As for the Christmas cards - yes if you want a personalised card for your family - I will try to create it for you for a small donation to the charity - anything you want from money to your time at the event. Already I have quite a lot of requests so get in early as I might get too busy.
