For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.
Your Advice on Changchun’s Develpoment
1. Program: The municipal government is launching a program of soliciting comments and suggestions from all foreigners who are now studying or working at Changchun to promote the city’s development. Comments and suggestions are on the following aspects: economic construction, social undertaking, city deveolpment, living conditions, city safty, creative social management, expanding foreign exchange, enhancing internationalization of Changchun, etc.
2. Schedule and requirements: Suggestions are expected to be submitted during Nov. 7th, 2011---Nov. 30th, 2011 in formal written letters of 500-1000 words. The municipal government will present awards to those foreigners who contribute their comments and suggestions. The award presentation party will be held on Dec. 18th, 2011. The languages you may use are Chinese, English, Japanese, Russian, Korean and German. The comments and suggestions you shall present are supposed to be reasonable, appropriate, explicit, constructive and practical.

Good idea to send a letter on behalf of CCF - how about having an evening inviting people to come along with some ideas? - something like - Ideas for Changchun. Come and join us to put your ideas down as to how we can make Changchun a great place to live etc etc etc.......?
