For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.

Changchun Friends

a great way to get involved

Better than beijing!

Beijing pea-soup pollution has deteriorated dramatically in recent months forcing a lead official to concede the country's air standards were not being monitored correctly.

As a pall of yellow-brown smog settled over Beijing yesterday (FRI), the city's air pollution index stood at 84, or grade 2. That officially made it a "blue sky day", according to Beijing's environmental bureau.

Changchun - the sunshine capital of China!

Comment by kIDDa Vitaly on December 1, 2011 at 16:49

I'm sure Changchun ain't for me... and it's easy said, i'm so young to feel myself so old everyday here, where only places to eat, to DRINK... not to mention eternal winter city... changchun is place for teachers and for students... no real work, entertainment and star's performance from around the world... it's big city compared with my hometown Vladivostok, but Vladivostok haves more opportunities.

and main thing that Changchun is place for people who's already got retirement!

I'm happy, but my happiness doesn't depend on the place where i am!

Changchun is in my opinion, a hidden gem inside China. CCF, CCL and other entities are putting Changchun on the map. Business and real estate is quite easy here compared to some of the more developed places in China. The people are generally all super Cool and very friendly.
I just have one problem with Changchun, why call it "the city of eternal spring", because it's clearly not!
