For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.

From today until July 4th, a holiday-related quiz question will be posted everyday.  The quiz master at the celebration will give a beer or two to the person or persons who correctly and/or uniquely answers the most questions first.  Yes, timing is everything in this contest.  However, creativity will be rewarded too.

What was the name of Scotsman who not only was an American revolutionary war naval hero, but also became a Russian admiral?

Louis XVI but all the troops and supplies send by France by order of his predececor Louis XV helped ruining the country and is one of the facts (one of many others) that slowly lead to the french Revolution. All this just because the enemy of my enemy is my ally...

Another lesser known King Louie the 1776th fact:

At the state rotunda with millions of minions around him- Louie (Louis) Armstrong performed at KL's funeral. Louie Armstrong, trumpet player, decided on a tearjerking, emotional and heartfelt rendition of "Taps" at King Louie's funeral.

Little known facts about the King of France during the revolution:

King Louie the 1776th was the King of France during the American Revolution. Before King Louie was King Louie he was a 2nd Louie (2nd Lieutenant) in Napoleon's army. King Louie also wrote the smash hit "Louie, Louie" performed by the Kingsmen and featured in the movie "Animal House". After the war, he moved to St. Louie (St. Louis, USA).
