For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.

You folks who enjoy good classic rock might want to check out

http://www.rock101.com

Especially good in the evenings at about 8:00 when the "Bro Jake Morning Show" comes on. It Features Jake Edwards ("The Champ" for those who enjoy their boxing comedy) and Mike Reno (yes, from Loverboy). Great radio station out of Vancouver, BC. Click on the "Listen Live" button in the top right corner.

Michael,

You might want to get yourself a VPN, or other secure connection. On the beemp3 site, type in your song or artist (click the appropriate radio button, of course), Then when the songlist appears, find your song. If you open it in a new tab, you will see (on the right hand side) three letters that you hve to put into the blank space (Ignore all the "Download to your cellphone crap"). Once you do that, you'll be able to download the song. Have fun!!

Thanks for this link Chris.  I have to see if I can work the site correctly and learn how to navigate.  So far the song is "buffering".  Before that I clicked on another download button and ended up downloading some "Moozy" gadget that also spent a long time "buffering".  I'm wondering if it has to do with the internet connection.  I just got to Changchun (1st time in China) a week ago and still "buffering" myself and trying to navigate correctly...Lol.

I knew Paul Rodgers sang with both Bad Company and Free, but did not know they were the same band!  Great trivia.  I managed to see Paul Rodgers in the 80's; playing with Jimmy Page in a band called "The Firm" which was so/so.  But then again, I saw him play alongside other legends in an all-star concert called, "The A.R.M.S. Benefit" featuring: Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Joe Cocker, Bill Wyman, Charlie Watts, Ronnie Lane, Andy Fairweather Low and Stevie Winwood.  This was back in 1983.  Unfrigginbelievable.

Anyways, great to see some folks on this board who can appreciate their classic (eternal) rock music!

Michael & Richard,

Bad Company first started out with the name "Free".

Input the code on the right side, and away you go. I find beemp3.com a great site for music. Reminds me of the oooold Napster!! :)

You got that right Richard.

@ Chris - I think that line is from Bad Company or Free?  "All right now baby, it's all right now
All right now baby, it's all right now......"

"The couple were saved after passers-by heard Tang's girlfriend's screams."

I thought Tang was the girlfriend?!  Sounds like 3 people were involved in the "saucy romp". Lucky guy!  Well at least until the car nearly fell over the edge.

Lover's "Lock and Roll"?

What's the line from that song ... "Let's move before they raise the parking rate".
