4 GOALS for Messi and 1 for Ronaldo on Saturday 6th May has almost finished the race between the 2 players. That's Messi on 50 goals in the Spanish league and Ronaldo has 44. What a contest!!!
But the golden boot will be Messi's once again. That's Messi's 8th time he has scored 3 or more times in a game. He has broken so many records this year and he;s still 23.
Real Madrid win the league though and The Special One has done it again.
What a goal feast these 2 players have served up for 2 years running.
Two years ago Messi won it with 34 goals, last year Ronaldo won it with 40 goals.
This year the competition is even closer, better and with only 5 games to go in the Spanish League.
The big prize is given to the player who scores the most league goals in Europe but I have shown below all their goals just so you can see what amazing seasons they are having.
I am hoping Ronaldo does it as he is overshadowed by Messi but his achievements are amazing too.
But together and individually they are breaking so many records with the sheer amount of goals they have scored this year. Last year both scored 53 goals in all competitions - 106 goals - and they have already reached that total.
So is it going to be Messi or Ronaldo. Only a few games to go and both on 41 goals.
Update - Ronaldo now on 42 goals
They play each other on the 21st of April with Real Madrid 4 points ahead as of now.
Update - Barcelona 1 - Real Madrid 2 and now 7 points ahead

Barcelona bring on Alexis Sanchez in the 69th minute and he scores in the 70th - scrappy goal. But then Ronaldo gets a great goal a few minutes later - brilliant Ronaldo!!!
Torrential rain and the special one has sailed Real through the first half with a one goal lead coming from the unexpected source of Sami Khedira - a really soft goal. That makes 108 goals for Real this season and a new Spanish League record. Barcelona have 74% of the possession but it's goals that count. I'm listening to the half time pundits - Terry Venables being one of them - great to see and listen to him.
OK, before the match - I'm up for it, having slept early so I can enjoy it. I'm watching QPR v Spurs for my starter - good match. The main course - well I'm Real Madrid fan and think the special one will get his team through this one. It could be tight but I expect it will see a red card or 2 and there will be a few goals - hopefully for Real - but that is just wishful thinking as I fear Messi as usual will light up the match. This has been a great blog so thanks for all the comments.
But they both have big European games coming up next week,,,, how will they juggle their teams?
The big match is on in the wee hours of Sunday morning and it should be a cracker.
Barcelona are at home but Real need to get at least a draw if they want the Spanish crown.
I'm backing Real Madrid to take something from this game.
Their best players were usually picked up by a English premiership team. My favourite was Mark Viduka who played brilliantly for Celtic and Leeds. I remember watching Viduka scoring 4 against Liverpool. I watched it on a telly powered by a small generator in a very remote and very poor part of Africa, I was with a whole village of Tanzanian men who could name the whole Liverpool team - but they left that match chanting Viduka's name. A great memory!!! The 4th of November 2000.
Hey mr choonie, what do you know about AFL?
The world is MESSImerized but he is only one man - a great player I admit. Chelsea were great as I knew they would be. So come on Chelsea let's show them defending at it's best. In the first 10 minutes the possession percentage was 17/83 and that's Barcelona playing away - it's going to be tough but there is light - and come on Bayern too - they too were magnificent.
