a great way to get involved

4 GOALS for Messi and 1 for Ronaldo on Saturday 6th May has almost finished the race between the 2 players. That's Messi on 50 goals in the Spanish league and Ronaldo has 44. What a contest!!!

But the golden boot will be Messi's once again. That's Messi's 8th time he has scored 3 or more times in a game. He has broken so many records this year and he;s still 23.

Real Madrid win the league though and The Special One has done it again.

What a goal feast these 2 players have served up for 2 years running.

Two years ago Messi won it with 34 goals, last year Ronaldo won it with 40 goals.

This year the competition is even closer, better and with only 5 games to go in the Spanish League.

The big prize is given to the player who scores the most league goals in Europe but I have shown below all their goals just so you can see what amazing seasons they are having.

I am hoping Ronaldo does it as he is overshadowed by Messi but his achievements are amazing too.

But together and individually they are breaking so many records with the sheer amount of goals they have scored this year. Last year both scored 53 goals in all competitions - 106 goals - and they have already reached that total.

what a pity! Barca lost four chances to score a goal...hope they could reverse this in the second round...

Well, it was Chelsea 1 Barca 0 - and they (Barca) had something like 65% of the action. So neither Messi or Ronaldo scored in the first leg

cannot see Chelsea keeping Messi out though when they return to barca

Messi Messi Messi. That's my patriotism talking. And I'll quote Ronaldo: "Because I'm handsome, I am the best player in the world and because I have money, people despise me" If this world could give a prize to the most humble person, Messi would undoubtedly win. Congrats to Ronaldo if he wins. He's still an amazing player, however Ronaldo wouldn't do much without his buddies either.

Great result for Chelsea and a great game to watch, Chelsea rode their luck but had quite a few chances. Barcelona were unlucky on the whole they kept Messi quiet and deserved their 1 goal advantage. So the Chelsea v Bayern final is now a real possibility - and I'm still holding out for Chelsea as Champions.

Can't wait for tonight's game and I'm hoping the little maestro doesn't score but the Chelsea defense will have to play out of their skins. Come on Chelsea - must support Chelsea, the British club, until they play Man U and then ..... Congrats to Reading who won promotion last night. -

And Clement - I agree that Ronaldo has done more - he's won the golden boot in 2 different leagues. But I reckon Messi will break too many records by the time he finishes his career. And one day he will also become a great manager.

OK Clement - two!

But if he could score a goal like maradonna's (against England godammit!) in the World Cup final.....

Comment by Clement on April 18, 2012 at 16:24

No for that he have to get two world cups

Comment by Richard Roman on April 18, 2012 at 16:16

If Messi can win the world cup (and they have the players) he will be up there with maradona and pele

Many great players fail to shine at international level - weird but it happens a lot.

But Messi has time to correct his last World Cup and I'm sure recently he banged in three at international level against Switzerland. According to my last look he's scored 22 times at international level which is quite good for a 23 year old.

Ronaldo, I bet on Ronaldo, and I am sure He is a better player than Messi.

The first Reason is because what he is doing now, he already did it in a another club in a another Championship, I am pretty sure that if you move Messi to the Premier league, without all his chillwood buddys it wont be the same story.

The second reason is if Messi is that excellent player ,he would at least score a goal with Argentina in the world cup, he didnt but Ronaldo did with Portugal, a smaller team than Argentina.
