For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-Il dies aged 69 after heart attack

Kim's death was announced on Monday by the state television from the North Korean capital, Pyongyang.

Kim is believed to have suffered a stroke in 2008 but he had appeared relatively vigorous in photos and video from recent trips to China and Russia and in numerous trips around the country carefully documented by state media. The communist country's "Dear Leader" - reputed to have had a taste for cigars, cognac and gourmet cuisine - was believed to have had diabetes and heart disease.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the new DPRK Comedy Club. Tonight, we are going to introduce a new band: "Beelzebub and Special-K's". But, before we introduce our new gang of comedic demonic despots, let's welcome an old favorite of ours, Pol Pot and the Hitlerites ... Take it away, Adolf ... "

Why would they sue us? They might get a little miffed cuz' we made 'em look like a coupla' "Cornflakes", but I bet they are all sitting in the boardroom all "Cheerio'd" and having a party. I bet sonny boy screws up in the first month and gets "Eggo" all over his face, and the "Crunchy Nut" Presidium has to teach him a lesson and "Snap, Crackle, Pop" his fat butt.
