For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.

Changchun Friends

a great way to get involved

We are very pleased to announce that two former members of this parish have now set up their own websites based loosely on this site

So- a big hello to Rayce in Qinghandao and Adam in Jilin

A network of co-operative sites seems pretty good to me

Here are the addresses:

Jilin:

The International Exchange building at CCU isalso a hotel. I could inquire as to prices, if you'd like, Richard.

I have just posted on QHD on the dinner club:

Whilst I am not down on the coast like you guys, I would like to make a proposal. How about a weekend or a day and a night in our respected cities based around food, drink and new friends. Changchun has some great eateries and I know Rayce knows a cheap hotel you could all stay in. I would also be prepared to advertise a nice "Get-away dinner break" here in Changchun on www.changchunfriends.com.
I don't suppose it matters who starts or goes first, but if you could give me a basic outline of costs, restaurants with planned menu, then we could try to get this ball rolling!!

It's just an idea, but jilinpals could also be included in this idea, getting to sample some nice food from each city.

What do you think?

We could try set teams from each city to compete in events like football, a quiz night or a debating team.

Lets support them as much as we can.
