For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.

What is the best alcoholic beverage in the world?

Richard roman started me thinking with his last post, "what is the best drink in the world?" Belgium seems to be a great beer making country. But what is the best alcoholic beverage? Wine (what wine?), Beer (what beer?), Mixer (what mixer?, Shot (what shot?).

For me:

Beer - Yorkshire Bitter.

Wine - Californian Red

Mixer - Gin

Shot - Patron (Gold)

...or Jean Paul Gaultier. I like your stand point on this Vinz, but wondering if its biased, since we old timers have had to put up with cheap swill they call beer here. Regardless, I prefer to think that some finer drinks in this world can be enjoyed on ones own as well! Sipping G&T's on a sunset beach alone really does it for me...call me weird!

very philosophical Vinz!

I can see you on the Left bank sipping your Absinthe with Jean Paul Sartre and friends!

I had an awfull drink last night; it was some kind of baijiu in which a dead snake was macerating. It tasted like dirt in a corpse but it was shared with friends in a nice atmosphere and this experience will always bring back nice memories to me.

At the contrary, I had beautiful drinks with people who bored me or made me waste the evening so...

maybe beverages and cities have this in common; it's the people you share it with that makes it interesting and flavorsome...

As for beer -  Marston's bitter, Theakstons from the UK are both good and I had a great light lager in Brussels but I cannot remember its name!
