For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.

Changchun Friends

a great way to get involved

With so many different places to go in Changchun, I was wondering where everyone thought was the best place to go on a Friday evening?

1) PARADISE

2) CORNER CAFE

Nobody can beat those...best memories for me in this city! The best fun ever!

Corner cafe I knew, paradise is before my time!

present day?

yet to come
That ashamed, perhaps we should open a new place!
Agreed! 100%!
Angels and Demons!

Obviously Grandpa's is a local favourite but as Alex says the old paradise was where it all started

Happy Home could become a good regular place for a Friday night

What about WLC? I know there are some events there on some Fridays, but those could be moved. If we promote it for each and every Friday . . .

Soon you'll need events to fill that space

Ok, so outside Gui Lin Lu there is possibly a few places too.

But in Gui Lin Lu, where is the place we all should go, because 1 day a week we should all congregate. This will, like corner cafe used to do, bring the community together! I think that its great that we have so many places now, but it spreads us all out. I wish I was around to see the paradise.

What about the original monkeys?

I think the go to place where everyone can get together is now Wednesdays at Happy Home to listen to the jazz!
If I could go back in time and had a choice where to step out on a Friday night, it would be San Marco for me.
But now... So many choices... Not so much care for where I go to these days, but where I end up!
