For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.

Does he have to be able to ride a bike?
Not a necessary requirement.

I can teach the 10X table and I also know Boyle's Law if that helps!

Sorry Richard my reply was longer but got truncated.
I used to teach secondary Maths in Africa and really loved it.
How old is the student? What level? Etc.
physics I have never tried but that is not a no.
She's 19, fluent English of course. She needs an A-level math and physics teacher, but preferably the same persOn can teacher her both. I can teach math, but ideally she needs a physics teacher and I hate physics!

I can teach Vedic Mathematics!

I once did when I got bored teaching computer code (what do I know about that?

Amazing story:

Vedic Mathematics is the name given to the ancient system of Indian Mathematics which was rediscovered from the Vedas between 1911 and 1918 by Sri Bharati Krsna Tirthaji (1884-1960). According to his research all of mathematics is based on sixteen Sutras, or word-formulae. For example, 'Vertically and Crosswise` is one of these Sutras. These formulae describe the way the mind naturally works and are therefore a great help in directing the student to the appropriate method of solution.

In fact.... I might give a free lesson!

This is the great man ( and he was great)

Is that the very first slide rule?
Fascinating story though.

Richard, what does IBO stand for? Maybe it is IB (International Baccalaureate) :-?
