For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.

Market Research?
I think the you DEFINITELY need to invite the Honorable Mr. Jack Field as a guest lecturer..... and/or symposium coordinator.....
absolutely!
Laura - I am teaching market research next term - maybe we can do a joint research paper!
I still remember paying something like 0.5 euro on using the bathroom in McDonald in Holland, is this the same case in other countries?
I prefer KFC. but both KFC and McDonald=meeting someone+bathroom+food
I once did the same "research" and found out in the 20 min I eat, half of people came into KFC went straight to the bathroom and...left without placing any order. Hey, Richard, we could totally publish a paper on this, LOL
Alex and Matt and everyone else out there! I see M as a place to buy a burger, eat it, and leave - but it is different here. Why?
I do agree on the fact that McD is a popular place to meet, and easy to locate. I don't know how it works in other countries but back home, at any restaurant, they'll ask you to leave if you don't order anything. You'd also get a ticket for driving the way everyone drives here. Well, I'm asking too much from China, I know...
That's probably the most popular place to meet someone in all of Changchun... Marta and I have discussed it a couple times. It's also interesting to see how many people come in and hide from bad weather.
But on the other side- they are selling a lot more coffee in China than before.
