For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.
About a thousand years ago, my family and I emmigrated from Italy to Canada. It was permanent for my parents at the time. I would have thought for me too. We only had the clothes on our backs
Then 4 years ago I moved from Canada to China. It was more difficult for me as I wasn't a toddler any more and far more responsible. It wasn't traumatic, but it was eventful. I brought most of my clothes, books and a few personal items
Earlier this year I departed my new second city of Changchun with Joanna and travelled to Qingdao. A bit of an emotional rollercoaster. I was excited to begin and break in a new city, however I was saddened to leave the huge number of friends I made there. (I won't miss the : ( idiots). We needed a moving company
Today, we are moving again to a new place, from the shoebox we have to a spacious 200 sq metre 2 floor home. And its just up the street in a great part of the city. The logistics are proving to be a tad cumbersome. I must have people staged in places to make this work!
Move 1: 17,000 km - easy
Move 2: 12,000 km - harder
Move 3: 1,000km - emotionally draining
Move 4: 200 metres - stressful
The closer I go, the harder it is! Next move is to the moon, I'll only need a laptop and food/oxygen supply!

What side of the city are you in?
Shi laoren? by the pier? in the middle in Xiang gang Zhong lu ?
Thanks Vinz, or do you mean keep moving away?
Have you always noticed with any move there are certain assurances:
1) you will lose some thing you need
2) you will break some thing you love
3) you will find something you thought you lost
4) your partner has secreat too
I love the new place, 200 sq metres, 2 floors with a full bathroom on each, a private office and 2 spare but small bedrooms
hey sal - how did the move go?
