For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.

Changchun Friends

a great way to get involved

The Chun. Its a spiritual place you know.

The Chun. It's a spiritual place you know.

Many of you probably wonder why I have earned the honorific, ''Mahatma'' Jack. Well, I cannot tell you here and now on this blog as the tale is one of epic proportions and mysterious origins, however, what is clear is that here, in the Chun, we the ex-pat community are a spiritual and ecumenical bunch. From all corners of the world we have come to spread unto one another our words, wisdom and in many cases, whimsy.

With such characters it is only appropriate that we afford unto them, their proper titles. I have prepared a small list below, please feel free to add to it.

John Rutledge - The Peace Maker

Richard Roman - The Pope

Lang Lee - The Rabbi

Steve Mellow - The Seer

Dennis Abbott - The Abbott

Tim Cappon - The Alter boy.

Emma Jarvis - The Emma

Jack Field - The Mahatma

Marta Yin - The Clairvoyant

Ferney Manrique - Padre

Chris Knight - The Holy Knight of the Chun Table

Jeff Walsh - The Good Samaratin of Siping

Pierre Robichauld - The Cardinal

And many more to come....

                        Peace be with you all.

You are thinking only about men - we need a Mother Teresa,a Virgin Mary, a Joan of Arc, etc, maybe an angel or two - guardian.

As for blokes - the missionary, Judas Iscariot, the monk, the hermit, witchdoctor, shamen, Noah, the Priest, the healer, the visionary, the true believer, the confessor, the choirboy, the saint, etc.

But I suppose for all these good people we need some bad ones to counteract them - such a s Lucifer, the liar, the demon, the voodoo man, the bogey man, the wicked witch, etc;
