why the world is so unequal!!

I know i should not think like that, i just want to abreact my mood. people are living in the same world, but they undergo different experiences in this unequal society.

I used to devote myself to prepare the TOEFL and SAT exams, sacrificed my break time to memorize the vocabulary. And then i applied to New York University, but they refused  me.

Today, a girl ,i met several years ago, called me and tell me that she will go to NYU this September. But she told me she only got 5 in IELTS. She told me that she found a boyfriend who helped her to go to that university without the language score and anything else, even no visa.

Her boyfriend is 30 years old and she is only 18, the same age with me.

 WTF ! I don't know how to express my mind.

such an unequal world!

I worked hard to achieve my dream, but i cannot get.

someone can take my dream easily just for finding a thirty years old boyfriend.

I cannot accept this reality at least in my age.

BUT, also remember that there are people vastly more disadvantaged than you. Try telling the kid I passed on the way to work today about how sad your life is because you didn't get into NYU...when he is digging through the trash to find something to eat.

well. now I stop thinking that girl and what she told me. just let it go and forget it. I have my own way to go and my own dream to realize. There're so many friends like me and be proud of me. I should be confident and enjoy life with my dear friends. Haha...

Bella, quite simply, your "friend" is lying to you. Without a visa, she cannot get into the United States (unless she is applying as a refugee). She is just trying to make you jealous. She is not a friend.

Ignore what she says. You have a dream. Don't ever let it go. Hold that dream close and continue to work hard to make it a reality. It will happen some day. Have faith in yourself.

Life itself is always unequal. That's how the world runs. Without unequality, the word will decline and disappear very soon. Every individual in the world takes some advantages as well disadvantages. Ten years ago I hated all the unequal things and now I realize that it's the only way to make this world functioning. After all, I don't believe that girl's fantasy any way.

Sorry the first line should read....many students are accepted into universities in the west....it has been a long day....

Hi Bella, many universities in the west are accepted without an acceptable IELTS score because they are not actually accepted into an academic program, but into a pre-academic program where they learn English.  A student may spend one to two years learning the language until they get high enough language skills to enter into a degree program.  I suspect that this might be the case with your fiend.  Or....she might be lying....
