For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.

On 21st, October, Sunday, let's go for Shaanxi cuisine. The most remarkable food there is called Rou Jia Mo, which shapes like a humburger. This is the most authenic place that I know in Changchun for freshly-made Rou Jia Mo.
I am an active member of a circle of foood epicureans, we determined to have a try of all the relatively authenic Chiniese cuisines which could be reached in Changchun.
We only speak Chinese at the dinning table. Come join us for decent Chinese cuisines and decent Chinese friends, in Chinese.

i like rou jia mo. sorry i couldn't make tonight. i would really like to try this place sometime.
I can only manage to get there at 5:30. Anybody who has a problem hitting the right way, pls feel free to call me at 13578883720.
yes, I'll be there, but only from 5 to 6. See you then
So, David, can I take it that you are attending? Encouraging...
Been waiting to eat Xian food again for a long time. Why didnt you ever mention this place before. What other food secrets do you have?
Martin, I disagree, the most remarkable Shaanxi food there is Yang Rou Po Mo, do you think they may have some?
John, yeah, there is one on the north of the zoo and it provides home-made Liangpi, while most of the other Shaanxi restaraunts only serve market-bought Liangpi. I called them once but I haven't visited it yet. There is also an option at the unnamed road which is between NE Normal and NE Normal Arts, and it's good. Thanks a million, John, and I will manage to have a try of the zoo one soon.
Martin, I have eaten them before, but not at the place you recommend. There's another Shaanxi restaurant, just north of the zoo. Pretty tasty, I say.
