For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.

It would be interesting to know how many weekend teachers are members of CCF and how many work at the Universities, Colleges and schools. But the weekend events have always been a big problem for many teachers who start early and finish late on both Saturday and Sunday. These teachers must be responsible and careful especially on Friday and Saturday evenings, so Sunday is actually the best day as most have no classes the next morning. But I assure you Chris this has always been brought up.
I didn't understand the cook-off would be in the kitchen which I agree is rather small - I was thinking more like Grandpa's and BBQ outside.
Let's go Jason!!!!!!!!!!!!!111
MJ's kitchen is so small, it can only accommodate three cooks, Martin. LOL
Besides, just how many "weekend teachers" are there in Changchun, and why isn't this dilemma of "weekend teachers" ever brought up at other CCF weekend events?
Only suggesting an open competition would create more interest and creativity. Also the time will not suit many of the weekend teachers - most will finish late Sunday evening and getting out to MJ's will take time.
It's a competition, Martin. We challenged each other.
Sorry Jack. Still teaching at that time which is a pity as I certainly make a delicious, mouth-watering, unique, never to be equalled, secret family recipe burger - pity. You should have challenged more people to cook - how did the 3 expert cooks get chosen anyway? I don't remember any notice.
Yep, and more. Eveything you need to make a good burger
reliable source of market research btw
The burger cook off will be the biggest night since hamburg discovered the best big snack in the world. I researched this, how many countries in the world recognise the hamburger as a staple in their diets? You'll be surprised.
