For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.
The Culture Club provides an educational, fun & entertaining environment to practice English w/ other non-native speakers while helping people to improve their English & preparing people with the skills to study, work & travel abroad.

Culture Club has some exciting events coming up this week!
Wednesday, November 9- Revolutionary Trivia Night- What do Guy Fawkes, Thomas Jefferson, Karl Marx, and John Lennon have in common? We will play a “pub trivia” game with a revolutionary theme. Gather a team or compete solo for the title.
Friday, November 11- Book Group- Robert Frost – Come hear and discuss three of Frost’s most famous poems. If you want to read them first, we will be discussing Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening, Fire & Ice, and The Road not Taken.
Both of these events start at 5:30 and the cost is 58 RMB.
Looking ahead to the future, we will be hosting two seatings of an American Thanksgiving dinner on Friday, November 25th, from 4:00 to 6:00, and 6:30 to 8:30. This will be a potluck dinner, so if you plan to participate please email Alex (alee@alexanderplee.com) with the dish that you plan to make.
We hope to see many of you at our events in the future! Having native English speakers participating in our activities enhances the experience for everyone, and it is a great way to share your culture with others!
