For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.

Changchun Film Society - Rebirth

Steve Mellow went to Thailand and he left me (Murin) his amazing collection of his DVDs and put me in charge of the Film Society. We will be holding regular meetings twice a month (on Wednesdays) at Grandpa's to watch movies. Everyone is invited to give his proposition. What movie would you like to show? Why? Which movie would you like to see? Don't worry we will see them all ;)

Another idea Murin - is to show an occasional small season say on a Sunday afternoon with a nice lunch thrown in! Better in winter but you could maybe get one in before the summer. Something like "an afternoon of Alfred Hitcocks" or whatever

Unfortunately, we live to far to come and watch the movies with you on a week night. That's sad because I like discussing movies after watching them. Murin, did you find the movie 2 days in Paris in Steve collection? It's ours and we would like ti get it back.

Just watched 7 psychopaths. Absolutely not main stream with Tom Waites as really odd serial killer and the darkest of black humour.

A true original. A writers movie and as it is by the guy who did Bruges a certain cult following will surely follow

Just watched Flipped. Loved it! Brought back all those memories of first love. Slushy and sentimental but brilliant!

Spent the weekend watching old Hitchcock films - now watching Nortorious. Love the sly sense of humour!

I participated in a broadway show with George Sanders. Bad experience. He could not remember lines and was replaced by Clyde Revell
