For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.

Looking at the tables, it appears as though only Germany are secure in the QF's.

Ireland and Sweden are out but the rest is in the air

I think! - but I might be wrong!

Well, that's one way of looking at it, Richard. Another way of looking at it is that the Germans have this one in the bag already!

There's a lot to be said for momentum, and while it's true that some teams, like Italy, improve as tournaments progress, the winners are usually a team that hits the ground running.

I'm probably wrong. I usually am.

Wow! Only Germany has maximum points after just 2 games. Very even tournament

The England Team are really winding people up! It's most amusing. I'm loving it. Come on, England!

I loved this post on a British football website - sums it all up!

Poor old Roy (English manager) by the look of his red nose is already hitting the bottle in anticipation of his crucifiction when England don't win. The game has been changed so much over the years that its hard to see England ever winning much because Englands traditional strenghs based on physicality are now illegal. Shoulder barging, slide tackles' weight of the ball etc. have all been changed to suit namby pamby continental styes of playing.
