For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.

I'm quitting punditry!

Actually, it's interesting to see that Spain ARE vulnerable, and Italy are hardly hugely impressive either.

The 1990 World Cup Final is the first one I remember well. England Vs Cameroon was an incredible game, and the semi-final was a classic. The final was poor, yes, but the Comedy Referee from that game is always worth a second look.

Lousy final though!

Comment by The Choonies on June 19, 2012 at 7:20

Maybe it doesn't count but Italy beat England 2-1 in the 1990 World Cup to decide who won 3rd place, both having lost their semi-finals to Argentina and West Germany, respectively. Italy won by a dubious penalty on Schillaci who got up and scored it too with his badly injured body - why because they also won the Fair Play Trophy. This was also the tournament Paul Gascoigne cried his eyes out when he picked up a second yellow which meant he wouldn't be in the final even if they beat West Germany. It was one of the best World Cups that I can remember.

So Spain and Italy go through!

So, if England can win tonight, we play either Spain or Italy

I believe I am correct in saying that England have never played Italy in the final stages of a major championship.

Come on England!

Croatia will beat Spain. I am liking Croatia. They're powerful and seem to have a will to win.

Italy may beat Ireland, which would knock Spain out, if Croatia do beat them. But most likely, Italy will only manage a draw.

 Croatia 3 Spain 2

 Ireland 1 Italy 1

So, Croatia as group winners, Spain as runners-up.

I see Germany and Portugal in the semi finals!

Matt - you could be on to a winner!
