For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.

Changchun Friends

a great way to get involved

A Changchun Friends bar - owned by the community

Now, here is an idea!

Why don't we look at opening up our own bar with the music we like, the drinks we like, the food we like, the ambience we like?

We could plan everything - location, management etc and be part of something really exciting!

A collective group effort with everyone a shareholder?

We would run it as a proper business - no-one has to contribute beyond their means - and with fully audited accounts - the profits going back to the shareholders?

If you wanted to sell your shares at any time then they would be paid in full

I will say more in my next post but is anyone interested in looking into this idea?

Don't we have a place like that already (except for the shareholding part)?  Called Grandpas.
