For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.
While doing research on pollution, I came across this on my surfing travels.

Now that we know how polluted this place is, the website recommends to wear a filter mask.

Maybe the surest sign of poor air quality- the Changchun Shangri-La Hotel has the N95 mask onsale in the 1st floor Gift Shop.
First time I can recall seeing it there....
The last couple of days have been near or over 500 which is basically TOXIC and would make Changchun the most polluted city on the planet. However, I believe MUCH of the high numbers has to do with the sand/dust storm that has been passing through. Sand, not pollution, is a more comforting thought.
it shocked me...did everything change our immune system and made us stronger in another sense?
why am I not surprised...the air, the food, the drink, the medicine. Its endless. Its better not think about it because we have to breath, drink and eat. So if you have no choice on it and you cant influence it than live with it.
If Bob Ross had been Chineses he'd have said "A little bit of grey, just a little bit of grey"
i thought now it is snowing, the air would get cleaner... Seems not the case...
good website, dave, btw, have u ever heard of a RZ PM2.5 mask, which is being sold on taobao and is announced a US original brand? I am very close to buy one, considering whether it's just a Chinese knock-out or not....
