For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.

I will speak to the missus about the packaging. Btw, is there a meat wholesalers in town. we cant keep going to these nonsensically small road side butchers. we must think big, ladies. BIG. Like the clogs in our arteries, we must think big. Burns, whatever are you on about?

Apple, Microsoft, Nestle, Burger king will  have got nothing on Mahatma Jack's Pork Scratchings!

We could even become a conglomerate. First we take Changchun and the we take Manhattan - but lets start small so people do not try and buy us out before we have made our mark!

Ok. We first need a picture of me, winking wildly on the front. Clear bags so you can see the rock salt and one of those golden or silver wire ties to bunch the bag together. This pork comes in at about 15 yuan for two plates worth of scratchings. So if we can find an oven, maybe an industrial oven, with say 10 trays, to cook up maybe 5-10 kilos of pork, at 150 C for about 40 minutes. Maybe we can find a company that can imprint this photo or even maybe a black and white cartoon with the words, I like it! posted around the picture. Bags we can sell for maybe 5-10 yuan. Plates of them at GP, 15 yuan. This is only the beginning of perhaps the most significant enterprise to spring up out of china since FAW. Lets get it done!
