For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.

Is the guy on the cover the one who does kung-fu?
Magazine is great. Not bad for a first issue! Simple but good visual impact and worth reading it!
Great Job for a first issue. Of course many improvements possible but isn't true for any human endeavor? Maybe in the future design something that holds the magazines to enable self service so the warm-hearted volunteers who distribute it won't have to do anything that is anywhere close to door to door selling. I would put more color in the logo as well.
The weather or the city can be said dull, show that the people who live in it are not.
Since only those who have a small one say that size doesn't matter, I would like to say...XL !
Richard, you have very cute pink rabbits on your windows!
Phrases for use in Changchun too...if you get this on trains buses and airplanes coming in then survival Chinese might be a very useful thing to do!
My advice for the magazine (and i am just trying to help, not be a dik):
1) Some design issues on the front page need looking at...a) the chinese name is not as prominent as I would have hoped, b) "the sound of Changchun keeps resonating" is a bit squashed up.
2) People of Changchun...nice but I would have put it on page 3. I also think you are going to run out of long term or influential people to talk about. How about devising a 10-20 questions questionnaire that could be asked to anyone to ascertain their feelings and ideas about Changchun and other stuff!
3) Would be cool if we could get 20 bus lines/routes to have accompanied the article about "traveling by bus"
4) Some minor grammar issues in the kung fu feature.
5)Past and future events is good on every level really. perhaps the biz cards could look a bit cooler!
and thats about all. Sure u have heard the same stuff from others, but its a good job for the first attempt. looking forward to finding those huge pizzas you advertised in the bag of the mag.
