For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.

The Choonies is the first awards ceremony for outstanding work within the Changchun community.

The provisional date for the first event is the 7th of January 2012 at the World Life Club where we hope to attract a big audience for the The First Choonie Awards ceremony. 

We will  celebrate the best contibutions to 2011 as well as start our own Hall of Fame for Changchun friends that have made a major contribution to our community in the past up to the present day.

The “Choonies” is the first awards ceremony for outstanding work within the Changchun community.

Using surveymonkey.com we accumulated a large amount of votes and the results are as follows:

Well the first Choonie Awards is complete and thanks to everybody who made it happen. Special thanks to Richard and Gaea for their wonderful support. Also to Matt and Ferney and their students for all their efforts on the night to capture the memories. Jack was Oznificant - that will get Finn checking the dictionary - and as always Sir Richard was there helping and making it a great night.
