For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.
Editior’s note: I started with this idea several days ago when John and I were discussing something about Changchun and China. I felt it a helpful and practical idea to edit a weekly report on what’s going on in the City of Not-That-Spring and China. Each issue consisted of local news and the hottest key words searched by millions of Chinese on Baidu.com will be posted on every Friday night or Saturday morning.

Though I started with the idea of writing a recommendation on the 20 best Chinese movies in my own eyes, the article turns out to become an introduction to hundreds of thousands of Chinese people’s preference on a website named douban.com, the most popular IMDb-like website in simplified Chinese.
