For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.

Better than beijing!
Beijing pea-soup pollution has deteriorated dramatically in recent months forcing a lead official to concede the country's air standards were not being monitored correctly.
As a pall of yellow-brown smog settled over Beijing yesterday (FRI), the city's air pollution index stood at 84, or grade 2. That officially made it a "blue sky day", according to Beijing's environmental bureau.

Far from promoting growth and political solidarity, which is what the single currency was supposed to do, the euro is in fact achieving the opposite effect, by condemning the eurozone to long term recession and now extreme political infighting. Again, it cannot be right to persist with something which is achieving the opposite of what it was meant to simply because the alternatives are thought to be worse.
What does anyone here think? This is serious

Not only is longhand a much more portable way to write, it's also much more individual
...........There are far too many distractions when writing directly onto the screen. The internet being the main culprit. But if that's not all, the computer screen itself is enough to put some writers off completely.
