For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.

Runners compete in China

It'll be anything but a holiday when three Wairarapa runners compete in the the first International Changchun Sister Cities half-marathon.

Gail Edwards and two other runners are flying to Masterton's Chinese sister city on Wednesday, after jumping at the chance to participate in the event

Taxi Drivers I have known

So, I get into the taxi and it has a big NO SMOKING sign. two minutes into the journey and the driver offers me a cigarette as he lights up . I accept of course! I point to the sign and give him an inquisitive look. He smiles and shrugs
