For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.

Martin Weekly (22nd-28th, September)Something Changchunese and Chinese

Editior’s note: I started with this idea several days ago when John and I were discussing something about Changchun and China. I felt it a helpful and practical idea to edit a weekly report on what’s going on in the City of Not-That-Spring and China. Each issue consisted of local news and the hottest key words searched by millions of Chinese on Baidu.com will be posted on every Friday night or Saturday morning.

I reckon Colsaerts of Team Europe will come out top - he is the World's Matchplay champion and probably the longest hitter from the drive.

The course has been deliberately designed for birdies and low scores so the year 2012 event will be very exciting and matches will swing back and forth.…

A person in a big country wonders why airplane windows DON'T OPEN !!!

Somewhere, in a big country, located between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, a person wondered, to a bunch of other people, of journalistic persuasion, who had  microphones and notepads, for reporting what may possibly be of journalistic importance to the masses ... "Why is it that you can't roll down the windows on an atmospheric conveyance vehicle?"

edited because one person didn't like the original ...

We need you to help us create a playlist which will feature permanently in Mahatma Jack's Bar.

What do you need to do?

Submit your 5 favourite pieces of music. Just five. Not the bands or…

Private car for rent!

I have decided that with winter coming and the roads as they are I am going to get my own chauffeur driven SUV. If anyone is tired of waiting for taxis and wants to share in the cost of this car I would like to hear from you. The most important thing is that schedules have to be regular, so that we can all fit around each other.

Best Internet Provider in town?

Just wondering what internet service provider are you using. What speed and price are you paying. It's the time a year for me to renew my internet and just wondering what everyone is paying this year. I have 4M with China Telecom paid 900RMB last year. Looking to upgrade to 8 or 10M. Tell me what you think.

The first snowfall of the winter? - A free beer for the winner!

I am posting this early so we can all have a go at putting up a date - the winner will get a free beer from an establishment of your choice (or a drink of your choosing)

Last year Chris and Neil shared the winners podium on November 13th

What day this year?

I mean a real fall of snow - not just a few flakes which do not settle. A carpeting of snow is required

Judges decision is final. I am the judge!
